Laugh More To Live More

With the world throwing tantrums at our faces every day, our lives have become a warzone. Every alternative day the news of someone taking their life is appearing on the feeds and timelines. We have been so stressed out lately that there is one thing that we have forgotten about- how to laugh.

I look at people strolling down the streets, with their masks on, and a depressing look in their eyes. It has been so long that we have laughed with our hearts out. But why am I focusing on such an emotion that comes naturally to a person? That is because, whatever has come naturally to us, we have always taken it for granted.

Now people may ask me, why should we laugh, if there is no reason? Won’t that will look like we are crazy? The answer for them is, how does it matter if you look crazy? Go to the terrace, feel the giggling inside, and laugh it out, laugh with your hearts open, feel the warmth. I can't tell you what can elevate your laughter (you can try watching or rewatching FRIENDS, in Netflix. Cracks me up every time, that's how I start my day), but I can tell you what happens when you laugh.

  • Your body muscles relax when you laugh, hence the tension decreases.

  • Your immunity will get a boost with a simple laugh.

  • Endorphin, the feel-good chemicals of your body gets released when you laugh and can even numb mental as well as physical pains, temporarily.

  • The more you laugh, the more strong your cardiovascular health gets.

  • Anger is a very negative emotion. Laughter can lessen the frequency of anger and can help you make decisions with the right mind.

  • Maybe not immortal, but laughter can help you to have better health hence making you live longer.

  • Laughter aids in strengthening relations, enhancing teamwork, defusing conflicts, and promoting bonds between groups.

In the end, we can never deny the fact that laughter adds a different zest to life. It helps you to understand the perspectives in a more efficient way. And with all that is going on, we really are in desperate need of some motivation. Then why not become the motivation yourself?
